Whole Wheat And Oats Muffin with Raisins, Cranberry and Chocolate Chips

"I was sore... I was itchy... I had hives all over and a mild fever too."

This was couple of days before Valentines's day.

As I have told before, I am not too much into celebrating Valentines Day. But things have changes since last year.

Sid was very excited the entire week, talking non stop about the Valentine Day party at his school. He practiced his letters and numbers, wrote his names on all the Valentines Day cards for his friends, ate his meals without fuss and even cleaned up after himself. All because I promised him, "Heart and Cupid" stickers and a heart shaped Strawberry pancake for Valentine Day breakfast!

Vegetable Soup to Soothe your Body and Soul

As much as I love my neighborhood Chinese restaurant Szechuan House, I hate it even more because its closed on Sundays. My Monday Blues sets in from Sunday afternoon. And nothing can be more uplifting for my spirits than a bowl of piping hot Chinese Vegetable Soup from that very restaurant. How I wish they would be open on Sundays too!!!

I have told you that I love Japanese food. And Mediterranean. And Italian. Not to forget Mexican, Lebanese, American, Middle Eastern, etc.etc.etc... But honestly the only food that comes closest to my heart apart form my own Indian food is Chinese Food. Indian-Chinese to be precise. Its like my soul food. I have grown up loving that kind of food the most. Its actually more Indian than Chinese but that's its main charm. Read more on this beautiful fusion cuisine here.

Smoky and Garlicky 'Baba Ganoush' and a Overdue Get Together

I love people. I love food. I love cooking. I love entertaining. And not necessarily in that order!

Its been quite a while I had friends over for dinner. I have always preferred casual get togethers over formal dinners. I love casual, laid back setting where my friends can just chill and enjoy good food and drinks and have great conversations. Food is usually laid on the coffee table and the side tables and drinks are aplenty and all you hear are loud, unadulterated laughter. That's what I call 'Entertaining'.

"Dry-Run" Chicken Chili with Corn Muffins for Superbowl

I cannot still understand why 'American Football' or simply 'Football' as its called in North America, is so called when there is no connection between the "foot" and the "ball" during the entire duration of the play. For me 'Football' will always mean 'Soccer' (where the the ball and the player's foot are together for major part of the game). Lil Sid will vehemently protest. I guess that's the 'generation gap' that I'll have to live with, for raising my kid continents apart from where I was raised.
